Sometimes things come up in the G.I.Joe collecting world that I just feel an urge to say something about. Maybe it's reviewing a figure, complaining about something, or just to say rush out and buy something. I thought I'd share these thoughts. If you'd like to have a say on something I've typed, just email me. I'll post your view along with what I have said, but do know that I will further comment. This is all in good fun, so anything said isn't in anyway meant to be taken as a personal attack.

(January, 2007) 25th Anniversary - So what's it take to make me decide to finally update my page? The new figures for the 25th Anniversary of course! These things are great! These are like a combined version of the Superhero Showdown (later Superhero Legends) figures with what became lebeled "new sculpt" G.I.Joe figures. It's by far the best looking figures for G.I.Joe ever done. There's no question about it.

The rumor is that there will be 5 packs that will consist of 5 figures. There are 25 in all of these that are being shown. It's unknown what there will be beyond these. If Hasbro will push these the right way, this could be that big relaunch that should have happened in 2002 with the new sculpt figures. That has been a problem though, advertising. G.I.Joe just hasn't been all over the place as it was in the 80s. If Hasbro would bring back that string of advertising again with these figures, I think these could go over huge. Here's what we're talking about if you've been under a rock and haven't seen them:

Storm Shadow

Duke

Scarlett

Gung-Ho

Destro

Roadblock

Cobra Commander

Cobra Trooper

Baroness

Snake Eyes

Granted there are those that are saying they do not like what they see. At least this time around it's fewer that say they do not like these than are those who were mad when Hasbro decided to change the figures to the "T-crotch" format. Those who do not like these are just old sculpt, original or nothing type of fans and probably short of coming out with a time machine I don't think Hasbro can really make anything new that they'd like. I'm not saying they're any less of a fan, just for me I rather would see progression than stagnation. I've got the original figures and there's only so many repaints of the same figures I'd bother to buy. - Joe
